10 NBFCs incl. Vivriti Capital, Pragati Fincap give up RBI registration

Ten finance companies in Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Indore and Mumbai handed back their NBFC licences, mostly because they are leaving the business, and RBI has cancelled them.

Official title: 10 NBFCs surrender their Certificates of Registration to the RBI · Press Release 2026-2027/1294

What happened

Ten non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) have surrendered their Certificates of Registration, and RBI has cancelled them under Section 45-IA(6) of the RBI Act. The cancellations are dated between September 3 and September 30, 2026. This is voluntary: the companies asked to give up their licences.

Six are leaving the finance business: Pragati Fincap Limited (New Delhi), Rajlakmi Vanijya Pvt Ltd (Guwahati), Vivriti Capital Limited, named Vivriti Finance Limited in company records (Chennai, which also held a factoring registration), MSJ Colonising and Leasing Company (Indore), PKSL Investment (New Delhi) and HCL Corporation Private Limited (New Delhi).

Two no longer need a licence. PCR Investments Ltd (Chennai) now qualifies as an unregistered Core Investment Company, a holding company that mainly invests in its own group firms. Aparna Investment Pvt. Ltd. (Mumbai) qualifies as an unregistered Type I NBFC, a small company that uses no public money and has no customer dealings. The last two, Vandana Griha Nirman Limited and Ramsisaria Builders Limited (both Kolkata), have ceased to exist as companies through merger, dissolution or strike-off.

What it means for you

If you have a loan from one of these companies, it does not disappear: you still owe it on the agreed terms, so keep paying and ask the company how it will be serviced. The companies that exited can no longer lend or do other NBFC business. Most of these are small investment or group companies with few retail customers.

What it means for businesses

Borrowers and partners of the six exiting companies should check how existing loans and deals will be handled. PCR Investments and Aparna Investment can continue their limited investment activity without a licence because RBI's rules exempt them.
