Official title: Money Market Operations as on October 10, 2026 · Press Release 2026-2027/1309
What happened
Money markets recorded no trades on Saturday, 10 October 2026, so there are no overnight rates to report. RBI's windows still ran.
Banks parked ₹1,39,360 crore at the Standing Deposit Facility (5.25%) and borrowed ₹381 crore from the Marginal Standing Facility (5.75%). Together with VRRR money still outstanding from earlier auctions, net liquidity absorbed was ₹3,76,436 crore. This is a weekend-day report, so it simply carries forward the picture of surplus cash.
What it means for you
No direct effect on your savings or loans. These figures show how easy or tight cash is for banks, which feeds slowly into short-term interest rates.
What it means for businesses
Banks and treasuries watch these rates for the cost of overnight money. For other businesses the effect is indirect.
